The Kalksee, which is around ten metres deep, is not only enchanting because of its idyllic forest setting. When you dive into the wonderfully clear water, you can spot crayfish, freshwater shrimps and large pond mussels. The elongated lake was formed during the last ice age, when meltwater flowing under the glacier formed a channel. In addition to the Kalksee, it also includes the Straussee, the Stienitzsee and the Flakensee.
