      In the years 1992/93 the Paderborn restorer Anton Ochsenfarth (* 1926 + 2004) built a chapel in honor of the merciful Jesus. He was inspired by his religious life, a pilgrimage to Medjugorie and the visit to the shrine in Krakow. After carrying out an architectural competition with various designs, an 8-edged building was erected, which found its place directly on Nesthauser See in the Paderborn suburb of Elsen. After completion of the static concrete scaffolding, the intermediate fields were bricked and clad with rubble. The roof was covered with lead and crowned with a glass dome. The chapel sometimes looks like a diamond against the picturesque background of the lake.
