Hiking
Vitens extracts groundwater here for the residents of the municipalities of Neerrijnen and Lingewaal at a depth of 10 to 65 metres. Vitens is allowed to pump 6 million cubic metres of water from the ground here every year. We purify the water and ensure that it comes out of the tap as clean drinking water. In order to protect the water extraction area from polluted water from the surrounding area, it has a higher average water level than the surrounding area. As a result, water only flows out and not in.
