The Krieger Group can look back on a family tradition spanning more than 130 years. Its origins lie in 1891, when Heinrich Krieger Senior started his own business by purchasing a wooden sailing cargo ship in Neckarsteinach. Due to the constant expansion of the business volume, the areas of gravel and quarries, shipping and trade with subsequent refining of the raw materials were brought into three legally independent companies in 1952: Heinrich Krieger KG (extraction and distribution of Rhine gravel, chippings and gravel, operation of a fresh concrete plant), Gebrüder Krieger KG (inland shipping), both based in Neckarsteinach, and Heinrich Krieger u. Söhne KG (natural stones) based in Heilbronn. The activities were expanded over the years with, among other things, the company's own ready-mixed concrete plants and transshipment points on the Neckar, Rhine and Main.
