Monti Bianchinu, together with Filigheddu, is a hill that overlooks Sassari to the northwest of the city, reaching over 300 metres. It is characterized by scattered houses (mostly residential villas of a certain value, immersed in the greenery of meadows, olive groves and Mediterranean-type trees or shrubs (holm oaks, pines, figs, blackthorns, mastic, myrtle, laurel, rosemary, prickly pear, bramble...). However, it is completely devoid of services. The highest part is almost 320 m above sea level and is located along a ridge road surrounded by trees, bushes and hedges that leads south towards the state road to Osilo or north towards Filigheddu (on dirt road). Some paths (steep and difficult, therefore suitable for trained hikers rather than cyclists) descend east towards the Logulentu valley. Where the vegetation opens up, you can glimpse remarkable glimpses of panorama. The summit is connected to the city below by means of a network of asphalted roads: the SS127 (or road to Osilo, at the confluence of which is also the terminus of the urban bus line) or narrow local roads, with some very steep sections: Monti Bianchinu local road, via Prunizzedda, via Luna e Sole. Given the steep slope (which reaches and sometimes exceeds 10%) and the not always perfect road surface, caution is required; it is important to have an excellent braking system and perhaps not thin wheels for the descent and generous gear ratios, as well as good training, for the climb. The traffic is pleasantly reduced, but for this very reason it involves the risk of running into imprudently fast drivers or motorcyclists.
