Built in the thirteenth century in Romanesque style, it was then remodeled with Gothic and neoclassical elements.
It houses seven huge chandeliers that have represented the Gremis - the city's handicraft guilds - since the Middle Ages.
Every year on August 14, the "Discesa dei Candelieri" ("Descent of the Candlesticks") is celebrated in honor of the Virgin Mary, who would have saved the city from the plague.
To the right of the church is the entrance to an exhibition with free entry.
