St. Bendt's Chapel is a converted town house. The conversion into a Catholic church took place against the backdrop of the immigration of a large group of Polish Catholics as guest workers. At the request of Father Peter Schindler, a fundraising campaign was started and the money collected was used to buy the site at Brogade 14 and Gåsetorvet 1 and to set up this chapel.

Hiking

The chapel's windows were made by the artist Chresten Skikkild and are among the most beautiful glass mosaics ever created in Denmark. The painter Birgitte West also contributed to the project by decorating the walls with lime paintings depicting various motifs, such as St. Joseph, Christ with the vine and others.
