    "... The Eschbach dam was built as the first drinking water dam in Germany. With its construction, the famous Aachen civil engineer Otto Intze created not only a pioneering work for dam construction, but also the first drinking water dam in Germany. Three years after the groundbreaking ceremony, construction was completed and the Eschbach dam was put into operation in 1892. From then on, it served as a model for countless other dams.
    The Eschbachtalsperre is connected to the higher Neyetalsperre via a 15 km long pipeline, from which an additional discharge is possible in case of water scarcity. ... "
