Castello Terrarossa, also known as Castello Malaspina di Terrarossa, is located in Terrarossa, in the municipality of Licciana Nardi, and covers an area of 1,250 square meters with 43 rooms. The castle was built in the second half of the 16th century on the initiative of the first Marquis of Terrarossa, Fabrizio Malaspina. The aim was to transform the ancient medieval fortress dating back to 1126 into a residence.
The castle has a square structure, similar to that of the Castle of Pontebosio, which was also built under the rule of Fabrizio Malaspina.
Today the castle houses the tourist information point of the municipality of Licciana Nardi and the Albino Fontana natural library.
