The Abbazia di San Caprasio is an important religious building located in Aulla. The church was founded in 884 by the Marquis of Tuscany, Adalberto I, and was originally dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta. From 1050 it was dedicated to San Caprasio, a hermit from the Lerino Islands on the Provençal coast.

Of the original structure from the 9th and 10th centuries, only the semicircular apse and a fragment of a stone with vegetal motifs remain. Of the cloister, three round pillars remain that supported the roofs of the small cloister.

Archaeological excavations have revealed the foundations of two churches from the 8th and 9th centuries. Inside a monumental tomb from the 10th century, the remains of a saint were found.

The complex now houses the Museo di San Caprasio, with artefacts from the 8th century BC and a rich collection of medieval capitals.
