A special feature of the church is the checkerboard stone in the west gable, quite high up above the portal.
In the west wall, in the foundation base, bottom left in the second layer, there is a stone built in, of which it is not known whether it has a special purpose or whether simply a previously used stone with a name engraved on it, e.g. a gravestone or memorial stone, was used.

In addition to the checkerboard stone, a sundial and finishing-work stones are also attached to the church. The church was damaged several times by fire, including a lightning strike in 1743 and a fire in 1808, which completely gutted it; reconstruction work was completed in 1817.
