    Tips

    October 10, 2024

A visit to the Köhlerstelle is worthwhile, a beautiful, well-kept rest area with an information board. Here you will also find stamp no. 38 of the hiking treasures.
From here you can also easily reach the Hemaitblick stamp point (no. 39) and follow the circular path towards the Helenenquelle.

From September 15, 2024, stamp station 38 of the hiking treasures of the Wild Homeland will be located on the information board.

Many people in the Weserbergland once made a living from charcoal burning. For centuries, the smoking charcoal kilns were part of everyday life in the Solling. Their coal gave families work and bread. Logs were stacked into kilns and covered hermetically with grass, moss and earth. The kiln was lit via a quantel shaft. The process of carbonization of wood has always been the same. In the absence of air, the charcoal burners heated the wood until it decomposed at a temperature of 280 degrees Celsius and charcoal, wood tar, acetic acid and other organic compounds were formed.

Tip along the way: Directly below the charcoal burner's hut is the small adventure landscape with a barefoot path, wading pool and landscape loungers.

Tour tip: Bergsee hiking car park in Delliehausen: "Waldläufer" hiking trail (De 6)

The charcoal burner's hut and charcoal kiln are located on the De6 "Waldläufer" circular trail and are adjacent to the beautiful grounds with loungers, a barefoot path, and a water treading pool.
Information boards and stamp box no. 38 are located here.
