Beautiful spring area with shelter and stamp station.

From September 15, 2024, the stamp station 30 of the hiking treasures of the Wild Homeland will be located at the shelter.

The Ahlequelle supplies the towns of Neuhaus, Silberborn, Mühlenberg and Fohlenplacken with water all year round. Three different types of springs meet in this spring area. At the Tüpelquelle, the groundwater rises under pressure and collects in a hollow. More striking, however, is the type of cascade spring, in which water bubbles out of rock slabs on the slope. In the 1950s, the Ahle's cascade spring was enclosed in a cascade shape. In the wider area, water diffuses out of the ground from several seepage springs. This is how the Ahlequellmoor was created, which is one of the last fens preserved in southern Lower Saxony and belongs to the Ahlewiesen nature reserve. The small river Ahle flows from here into the Schwülme, which in turn flows into the Weser.

Can be combined with a beautiful circular walk from the Neuhaus wildlife park. The place itself is a great place to experience the element of water. The springs flow directly into the Dölme, which meanders through the charming valley decorated with alders.
