From September 15, 2024, stamp station 7 of the hiking treasures of the Wild Homeland will be located at the refuge. A hike to the 20-meter-high Bodo Tower on the Zimmertalskopf is definitely worthwhile. The tower, built in 1978, has a unique steel skeleton construction and is one of the younger towers on the Voglerkamm. However, you should not be afraid of heights to climb the tower, because its special construction means you can always see down through the bars. The tower was named after Knight Bodo, the overlord of the town of Bodenwerder in the 12th/13th century. Today it offers wonderful views towards Ith, the small town of Heinrichshagen, the Weser and Bodenwerder. Tour tip: Kirchbrak hiking car park: “Zum Ebersnacken” hiking trail (Ki 1)

The Bodo Tower is a 20-meter-high steel-frame observation tower on the Zimmertalskopf. Its name comes from the knight Bodo, who was the overlord of the town of Bodenwerder in the 12th/13th centuries. The Bodo Tower can also be visited during a hike along the Ki1 or Rü4 hiking trails.

Great view over the Vogler. The ridge path is very varied and recommendable.
