From September 15, 2024, stamp station 8 of the hiking treasures of the Wild Homeland will be located directly at the Ebersnackenturm. No hiker in the Wild Homeland should miss the fantastic view from the 26-meter-high Ebersnackenturm (126 steps) at 462 meters above sea level. First built for surveying purposes in 1890 as a 13-meter-high wooden tower, it has now been built for the fourth time. The view from the top of the tower stretches over the vast, wooded and wild landscape of the Vogler to the Weser. When the weather is nice, the Brocken in the Harz can also be seen. Here, the exertions of the hike on the sometimes very steep hiking trails are quickly forgotten. Tour tip: Hiking car park at the Holenberg sports field: "Wilder Vogler" hiking trail (Go 1) or hiking car park at the Kirchbrak: "Zum Ebersnacken" hiking trail (Ki 1)

At the summit of the Ebersnacken stands the 26-meter-high Ebersnacken Tower, an open-plan timber-framed observation tower with an internal staircase, whose viewing platform towers above the surrounding treetops.A 13-meter-high surveying tower was built on the Ebersnacken as early as 1890. A new tower was built in 1922, but collapsed in 1946. Another tower was not built until 1960, and was replaced by the current tower in 1989.

Great view over the Vogler. The climb is always worth it. A great hiking destination even in fog or snow.
