The "Polsterthal" Water Trail begins at Karl-Reinecke-Platz below the former Polsterberg pumping station and ends at the parking lot at the exit of the Polstertal valley, located on the main road leading from Altenau to Clausthal-Zellerfeld through the Hellertal valley. Along the approximately 1800-meter-long trail, you will pass numerous relics of the historic Upper Harz water management system. Some of these structures once supplied power to the "Polsterberg pumping station," while others powered the stamp mills, where ore mined in the mines was processed for further treatment in the smelting works.
