Today, after a longer knee break, my daughter Marina and I went to Braunschweig in the Magniviertel to a well-attended, small Brazilian restaurant in the best weather.
The way there through fields and forest, the way back quickly on bike paths, pretty autumn colors and delicious Açai in between - what more could you want?

Our last stage🚲from Den Helder to Alkmaar led almost entirely through beautiful, varied dune landscape🌊 on great cycle paths🛣️.
We started in sunshine🌤️, before the strong wind💨 brought us clouds and, in the last few kilometers, proper rain🌧️.

Today we drove by car🚙to our base camp🏨in Alkmaar.
First, with hesitant sun⛅️, we explored the old town🏚️by bike🚲and on foot🥾: some cheese (market🧀is on Friday) but herring, kibbeling, beer🍻, windmills🌬️and canals💦 are a solid start for the coming days!

It's already a privilege to have a nature reserve right on your doorstep! So off we go 🥾 into the Fuhse valley, which is partly wild 🌾🌿, with strong wind 🌬️ and clouds ⛅.

Until now, I only knew this corner as a cycling destination. Today, my wife👩🏼 and I strolled around the almost waterless💦🤔Viehmoor in beautiful weather🌤️, through beautiful forest🌲 and even a small piece of heathland🪻 - simply great! And we also got to admire the first autumn colors🍁 already.

Nice round trip 🥾 with Petra 👩🏼 and Marina 👧 at pleasant 🌤️ temperatures from Prinzenpark to Riddagshausen and back.
Lots of green 🌿, beautiful forest 🌳, ponds 💦 and waterfowl 🦆 aplenty and not overcrowded. For dinner then a delicious Arctic char 🐠 and in the beer garden for a refreshing finish
