Beautiful historic building; built between 1843 and 1849 initially as a hospital for people with swamp fever (which was common in the creek area at the time) and later as a retirement home. The building then had various functions over time until it became vacant in the 1980s and fell into complete disrepair, but was then completely restored and served as an event location for a while until its bankruptcy in 2020 (covid period), after which it temporarily serves as a refugee shelter.
