In the legendary Burgmannshof (first mentioned in 1263) mainly lived the knights who belonged to the count's entourage. The name "Fresenhof" comes from Arnold Frese, who took over the farm in 1485. The Fresenhof is the main house of the Nienburg museums. The music school is based there; in the neighboring building is the domicile of one of the oldest jazz clubs in Germany.
