Info from the web:Barrage with weir, power station, lock and fish ladder. The Weser is dammed here. Ships can overcome the difference in height through the lock. It is one of six barrages on the Middle Weser that regulate the flow of water. The barrage Drakenburg consists of a weir built between 1953 and 1956, an integrated small barge sluice and a hydroelectric power station. The weir is passable for canoes through a boat lane/boat slide. The Drakenburg lock for shipping on the Weser is located in a lock canal that shortens several river bends.A run-of-river power station was built at the same time as the weir and has been in operation since 1955. The hydroelectric power plant was originally operated by the company PreußenElektra, which later became part of the EON group. As a result of an exchange of shares with the Norwegian energy group Statkraft, Statkraft has been the owner and operator of the power plant since January 1, 2009.
