When I was young we came here every now and then to swim, by bike, motorbike, car... The "swimming" times were over at some point because of the danger of catching worms.
I don't know whether you were allowed to swim again since I've been away from the area for a long time and am in Wiesental.
It can no longer be used as a source of electricity because of some administrative hurdles that are not really clear to me; I'm just assuming that there is a reason for it (?).

Here, electricity was generated from the reservoir through hydropower, which was used by the company "Gütermanns Nähseide" in Bleibach as a cheap energy supplier for the production of high-quality sewing silk. Today, 9 wind turbines stand up here on the plateau.
