Border stone in 1741 in the former Langensalza city forest not far from Thiemsburg

    Hiking

The town of Langensalza (since 1956 Bad Langensalza) marked its territorial boundary on the facing stone side with three towers (without the current color scheme). Today's Bad Langensalza belonged to the Electorate of Saxony until 1815 and then became Prussian (Province of Saxony).

For example, the town's external forest areas in the area of today's Hainich National Park bordered the Craula district (Duchy of Coburg-Gotha). These stones still mark the district boundary today, along the Treetop Walkway, along the circular hiking trail.
