Tips
The Bonkevaart is a waterway on the northeast side of the city of Leeuwarden in the Dutch province of Friesland. The water is famous for the arrival of the Elfstedentocht, which has taken place here since the Elfstedentocht of 1985. The eastern part of the Bonkevaart runs just north of the Groningerstraatweg.
