Den Jydske Hingst (The Jutland Stallion) is intended to commemorate the large horse markets that used to take place in Randers. It is intended to commemorate the breed of horse that was particularly important in this area. The sculpture is based on classic horse paintings that go back to Leonardo da Vinci. The perspective arrangement of horse and street is copied from Baroque Italian squares. The sculptor Helen Schou made the statue out of bronze.
