The Kottmann mill has a long history and was mentioned in its original form as early as the 12th century. The great-great-grandfather of the current owner bought the mill as Düppersmühle and it has been family-owned since then, this year already in the fifth generation. So it is written on the Kottmannmühle website. Fires have reduced the mill to rubble and ashes twice. The first fire in 1917 cost the founder Jakob Kottmann his life.
