The Hobe Fountain with its memorial stone was erected by Duke Carl II of Mecklenburg in 1813 in honor of Friedrich Eugen von Hobe, who designed the park. Originally, there was an obelisk here, but it was destroyed in 1945.

The Hobebrunnen fountain is somewhat hidden and barely carries water today. Originally, an obelisk stood over the spring, but it was vandalized in 1945. A simple replacement, with a commemorative plaque, has stood at the spring since 1990.
