The Old Lifeboat House in Penzance is a historic building that originally served as a lifeboat station. It was built in 1884 to house lifeboats used to rescue sailors and passengers in distress along the Penzance coast and surrounding waters. Lifeboats operated from this station until 1917, when they were moved to other locations.
Today the Old Lifeboat House no longer serves its original purpose, having been adapted for various commercial and cultural uses in modern times. However, it remains a significant symbol of Penzance's maritime history and commemorates the heroic efforts of the rescue teams.
