Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary

It was built in the Baroque style between 1722 and 1725.
Inside you can admire a three-part family grave of the Gallas family, an old field altar by Albrecht von Wallenstein and Baroque sculptures. Also worth seeing is a Marian column from the 17th century.

The patronage of this church, "Visitation of Mary (or in another spelling: Visitation of Mary), refers to one of the many memorial days or festivals in honor of the Mother of God Mary. The term "Visitation" - which has negative connotations in our modern expression and way of thinking - refers in the Bible to Mary's visit to her relative Elizabeth.
She is married to Zacharias and the marriage remained childless, which was a social stigma at the time. But despite her advanced age, she still became pregnant, which the Archangel Gabriel told Mary when he brought her the message that she herself would give birth to the Son of God, Jesus.
The son of Elizabeth and Zacharias is John, nicknamed "the Baptist", who is considered the forerunner/pioneer of Jesus Christ.
