The old pilgrimage route runs from Virneburg to the pilgrimage chapel of St. Jost, which is dedicated to Saint Jodokus.

For centuries it has been the destination of many pious pilgrims, believers ask Saint Jodokus here for a good harvest, for protection against thunderstorms, fires, grain blight, fever, plague and other illnesses, especially throat ailments. His veneration has been widespread in Germany since the 9th century.
