Tips

The castle ruins lie on the "small Umlaufberg", a towering, z. T. perpendicular to the Kamp sloping rock cone, südsüdöstl. from Altenburg. The castle hill is lapped on three sides by the river and is only connected by a saddle-like terrain bridge with the northern hinterland. The approximately 3-sided plateau of the castle hill, allowed for about 80 m long, in S 50 m wide development. Actually called the former attachment "Tursenstein". 1419 is already reported by "the desolate place where Tursenstain Castle once stood".
From the castle are only a few fragments of the wall. A climb is worth in any case, the view into the Kamptal is breathtaking.
