It is worth climbing up because of the view of the Zoitzberg. It is perhaps more accessible to go here through the forest path from old pigeon prizzles. Various regional hiking trails and the Thuringia hiking trail lead over the mountain. A first refuge was built in July 1955 by Liebschwitzer youth. After repeated damage, citizens of the district erected a massive shelter as part of the “Mach-Mit-Movement” in 1987, which is still preserved today - unfortunately, as the photos show, damaged again by stupid people.
Zoitzberg: It is 284 m above sea level, i.e. H. 84 meters above the valley floor. "Zoitz" is most likely derived from the Slavic word for jays. An interpretation of "Häherberg" is therefore obvious.

If you take the somewhat longer route, the climb is easy to manage. The outlook is definitely worth it. If you take the direct path through the forest, you should be sure-footed. The path is still very nice.
