The Blondeau Tower was probably built around 1465. It is built on a horseshoe-shaped plan and contains a beautiful vault with a central pillar.
It was also known in the past as the "Tour du Quarreau".
From here, across the moat, one could see the vast training ground of the Chevaliers de l'Arquebuse, whose pavilion still stands opposite the Notre-Dame bastion.
During the knights' shooting competitions, the neighboring companies would gather in a large array of colorful costumes, and the winner would receive the coveted title of Bird King for a year.
