Church of San Fernando Rey, Santiago del Teide

The city of Santiago del Teide lies at an altitude of around 930 meters and in the center is the remarkable San Fernando Rey church. Santiago del Teide is a popular starting point for hikes and here you will find some bars and restaurants for a break.

The small town is a popular starting point for hikes in the Teno Mountains. For example, one of the many hiking trails leads to the pretty mountain village of Masca.
A special hike takes place every February when the almond blossoms are in full bloom in Tenerife. Then the church square of Santiago del Teide is the starting point for the famous almond blossom hike ("Ruta del Almendro en Flor"), which leads to the old pottery village of Arguayo.
