Raganu Bog translated means Witches' Bog. It feeds the Melnezer Lake.

The Vecslocene River, former lower of the Slocene River, flows out of the Kaņieris lake and flows into the Lielupe River. The greatest depth is only 1.1 m, while the average depth - 60 cm.

Vecslocene is interesting for water tourists because it flows through a swamp and a part of it is located in the Kemeri National Park. Travelling Vecslocene you can observe the wetlands that cannot be reached on foot using the Sloka lake walking trail.

The best conditions on the river are in the spring or autumn, when there are less insects and weeds. In summer time the route becomes a survival adventure in the jungle, which might suit those seeking adventures, but is by no means a relaxing canoing or kayaking trip for the family.

The Vecslocene River, which flows through the mystical Raganu Bog in Ķemeri National Park, captivates with its quiet, enchanted atmosphere. Originally a branch of the Slocene River, the Vecslocene now quietly makes its way through swampy terrain, fed by the springs on the edges of the bog. Here, nature reveals its raw and untamed side - surrounded by protected plant species and old trees reflected in the dark water.

The bog, also known as the "Witch's Bog", is known for its mysterious atmosphere and its rare species such as the stonecrop and marsh clubmoss. In spring and autumn, numerous birds can be seen here, which use the wetland as a resting place. Those who want to experience Latvia's nature intensively will get their money's worth here - an experience that is both calming and thought-provoking.
