Above the Reformation Church of St. Marien, the Bergstrasse crosses the Hochzeitgasse, at the end of which there is the “Wedding Gate”. A small gate with a sentry box in the preserved medieval city wall. This used to be the only pedestrian passage from the city to Hohenburg and ensured access to the castle hill in the event of danger.
