The 'top' (northernmost) lake in front of the bridge over the Ablach is open for swimming.
All others are reserved for the animals. The Schwackenreuter lake district is a nature reserve. There is a sign with a map near the parking lot at the viewing platform, on which this bathing lake is named and described as Lake No. 6.
---
The Schwackenreuter lakes are pure nature. Wild life testifies to the power of nature. A diverse flora and fauna has developed there from what the gravel quarrying wonderfully modeled and left to us.
This is a place to stay. Here you can let your soul dangle.
In the middle of the nature reserve, there is a bathing lake. Access is open, swimming is free, but at your own risk. Enjoy bathing in a natural lake.
Numerous waterfowl have become accustomed to the presence of humans. However, it is advisable to always keep a reasonable distance. A trip to our Schwackenreute lake district is always worthwhile, even all year round.
It is best to follow the signs from the Schwackenreute level crossing.
