This walk through the privileged living area with AMAZING HOUSES was impressive , but also quite a surprise to me, in some respects. Here are my observations:
These houses were all generous, spacious, even luxurious sometimes, a few with bold and interesting architecture. Around them there was lots of space, for several cars, for a boat or two, for a lot of green, beautiful plants, bushes and trees. And children`s playground, of course.
I went for one and a half hours: there were ONLY these houses. NOTHING ELESE. No shops, no schools, no churches, no sports grounds. Only these houses. They all had high walls with electric barbed wire on top. All of tehm had strong, sometimes beautiful lelectric gates.
At the entrance they all carry signs that were guarded by one or another armed defence service, with beautiful names like FBI. one or several dogs, on top of that.
I saw very few people in these properties, although today is a Saturday. If there were people, it was mostly black servants taking care of all kinds of work.
During my long walk I hardly saw any pedestrians, maybe three or four. A few monkeys playing around and crossing the street once in a while. Very few cars and motorcycles and no bikes.
It is strange to see how people live happily in luxury properties, where they lock themselves up in order to protect themselves from crime. I have seen similar situations in Pakistan and in Bogotà/Colombia.
