In the 170-meter-long and 34-meter-wide power station, a lot of wind was previously made and hot air was produced, because in the power center large machines supplied the blast furnaces with preheated air, the so-called blast furnace wind. At the same time, the electricity for the factory and the neighboring settlement was won here. Since 1997 - modernized by renovation - the large hall is now a place impressive venue.

The power station, which was built in 1902 and extended to several stages by 1911, was a key element of the Meiderich steelworks. It housed 10 gas-powered large machinery needed for power generation and blast furnace wind production. From this hall, the factory and the neighboring factory settlement on Neubreisacher Straße were supplied with electricity until 1965. After the machines were shut down and scrapped, the hall was used until 1987 as a spare parts warehouse.

Finally, as part of the development of the landscaped park, the power station was refurbished and converted into a multifunctional venue: after a seven-month refurbishment phase, the hall was opened in October 1997. Since then, major events of international renown have taken place, which, thanks to the special ambience of the huge industrial hall and their modern facilities, turn into extraordinary experiences.
