Möllerbunker "Stollen 6" – Urban Adventure in Duisburg Landscape Park
The Möllerbunker "Stollen 6" is one of the most impressive testimonies to industrial culture in Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park. Where iron ore and coke were once stored for further processing in blast furnaces, a mystical place full of history, contrasts, and adventure has now developed – perfect for explorers, photographers, climbers, and experienced divers.
The massive concrete walls, rusty conveyor channels, and dark tunnels transport visitors back to the active days of the Meiderich steelworks. The contrast between decaying technology and reclaiming nature is particularly captivating – in many places, moss, roots, and daylight break through the old structures.
Photographers will find one of the most atmospheric backdrops in the region here, especially at night when the entire park is artistically illuminated. For those who enjoy sports, a visit to the German Alpine Club (DAV) climbing garden is worthwhile: Over 500 routes – from bouldering to via ferrata – await you in several bunker pockets. Access is by registering with the Alpine Club.
Some areas of the Möllerbunker are flooded – and are considered an insider tip among divers. The diving club in Nordpark offers guided dives in complete darkness. In the cold, murky water, you'll discover old tools, rails, grates, and pipes – everything seems frozen in its original state. Not for the faint of heart, but an unforgettable experience for experienced wreck or cave divers.
Galerie 6 is nestled in a spacious park landscape with numerous other highlights: blast furnaces, gasometers, foundry halls, and the sinter bunkers. All easily accessible on foot or by bike – ideal for a tour through the fascinating world of the former steelworks.
