The old Erzbahntrasse in Marl connects the district Drewer (Breddenkampstraße) with the district Hüls-Nord (Lipper way). It is one of several car-free routes in Marl.
The route leads past the shaft 4/5 of the former colliery Auguste Victoria. It is next to a weather shaft to the "Erzschacht". In 1928 began with the sinking of the shaft. The final depth was 850 m. The scaffold was built in 1931 and 1936 began ore mining. One year later, coal mining ended on the mine. The Erzförderung ran until 1962, but was then discontinued because of unprofitable. Until the closure of the Bergfeld in 1965, more than seven million tons of raw ore, zinc and silver had been mined.
