The whitewashed St. Olav's Church was originally built in 1111. It is the oldest village church in the Faroe Islands. To prevent it from sinking into the sea, it was rebuilt in 1874 and given its present form. If you look closely at the church from the outside, you can see an opening in the wall on the north side through which you can see into the chancel. This hagioscope once allowed lepers to follow services from outside.
