A really nice circular route around the lake. It's a short walk from Runavik, or you can park near the football pitch and start from there.
Great bird life and moorland views.

This is the fourth largest lake in the Faroe Islands with a surface area of 0,5 square kilometres. Very nice part around the lake.

According to the guidebook, Lake Toftavatn is a beautiful and popular hiking area. We are quickly convinced and decide to walk around the lake. The hike around the lake is relatively easy and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The path is well-maintained and mostly a gravel road or paved path, leading us through a diverse landscape, including heathland, moorland, and wetlands. We pass several marshy areas that provide habitat for various bird species. The path winds over gentle hills, continually offering new perspectives of the lake and the surrounding area. There are several spots along the path that are perfect for a photo stop and offer panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding valleys.
