This elongated canal winds its way 26 kilometres through the peatlands between Coevorden and Georgsdorf in Germany, and is a reminder of a time when shipping shaped the region. Today it is a quiet waterway, lined with reeds and low banks, where art installations from the cross-border Kunstwegen project provide a surprising accent.
