Until 1442, Haus Nienberge belonged to the von Bissendorp family, who had it as a fief from the Counts of Tecklenburg. After 1442, the Lords of Schonebeck owned the castle. When the line died out in 1883, Ludwig Mersmann inherited the property. (S.E.)
The current residential building, a large farmhouse, was built in 1837. (S.E.)

🏰 Nienberge Manor (Historic Noble Residence)
Nienberge Manor has been the ancestral seat of a branch of the noble family von Schonebeck since at least 1442. This family wielded considerable influence in the parish of Nienberge.
