With an area of around 330 hectares, it is one of the larger lakes in the Uckermark and is located in the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve. A 16.5-kilometer-long hiking trail leads around the lake and offers varied impressions of the landscape.

To the south of the lake lies the Grumsin beech forest, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011. The combination of water, forest and rolling hills creates a special atmosphere. Along the way, there are wide views over the lake and the surrounding forests. The area is quiet and invites you to explore nature at your own pace.

The Wolletzsee is a popular local recreation area for Angermünde and offers both locals and visitors the opportunity to escape from everyday life. The diversity of plants and animals in this region makes every visit a special experience.
