Early 18th century, walled farmhouse with small rectilinear-geometric garden, converted into a court of pleasure; reworked around 1800 in early landscape style; Superficially redeveloped around 1900 and expanded to approximately 25 hectares.

Brakum Castle, named after the nearby hamlet of Brakum or Brakem, dates back to the 'hof te Roypoorte', which was converted into a castle or court of pleasure between 1710 and 1720. In 1729 it was purchased by Herman Poringo, professor of theology in Leuven. In 1913, the domain was purchased by the de Néeff family, who are still the owners. The current plantings mainly date from after that takeover.
