The market fountain was only redesigned after the town was incorporated into Kemnath. It shows the market coat of arms of Waldeck with a description. The year 1859 is engraved on the fountain itself. This and another fountain in the Lower Market were built at that time. They served to supplement the water supply. A smaller fountain trough was placed in front of both, which was used for washing or watering livestock.
