The Eifel Aqueduct to Cologne is an impressive Roman aqueduct, approximately 95 kilometers long, that transported fresh water from the Eifel region to Cologne. It is one of the most important technical monuments of antiquity and demonstrates the engineering skills of the Romans.

    Hiking

The Roman aqueduct from the Eifel to Cologne is the most important technical monument of antiquity north of the Alps - and also the longest. Its total length is 95 kilometers - including all supply lines around 130 kilometers. This makes it the third longest in the entire Roman Empire. The "Roman canal", as it is called in the region, is one of the great engineering achievements of antiquity. The construction method and surveying technology amaze both laypeople and experts. It is an archaeological monument of international importance - also because important parts have been preserved.
