The landowners and owners of Schloss Schellenberg, the Freiherren Vittinghoff-Schell, had the original Kotten built in 1836 as a residential building for forest workers. Later, the “Schöne Aussicht” coffee bar was established here. Surrounded by forest and hiking trails, the unique view from the terrace rewards every climb from Baldeneysee to Jagdhaus Schellenberg.
