The replica stone No. 7, which was erected in June 2009, was accidentally removed during construction work and replaced by a new replica in May 2021 by the Eimsbüttel district office in cooperation with the Kollau Forum. It stands at the junction of the passage that leads from Eidelstedter Weg to Wiesinger Weg. The location of the new replica is a little north of the former border. The rear property boundaries of the houses on Quickbornstrasse were also the border with the Pinneberg dominion.

      Boundary stone hike
The best place to start is at the fish market: the first boundary stone is there with a view of the Elbe. Walk up the Pepermölenbek: the coats of arms of Hamburg and Altona are emblazoned on the bridge. Continue along Trommelstrasse and Lange Strasse to the Reeperbahn, house number 170.

There is a beautifully restored border pillar here. Now along Talstrasse to the corner of Paul-Roosen-Strasse. There is a stone in front of house number 5. There are three more in nearby Brigittenstrasse, and the municipal cinema "B-Movie" is now located on the border line. Incidentally, this is where the district border between Altona and Mitte runs.

From Thadenstrasse, continue along Schulterblatt to Doormannsweg, where a stone is hidden on the green strip opposite house number 43. From here, follow the boundary stones:
across the Eimsbüttel market square through Eimsbüttel, Langenfelde and Lokstedt and then in a curve to Eppendorf. There are also two boundary stones on the UKE site. Further north, the path then leads to Fuhlsbüttel and Langenhorn as well as Ochsenzoll.

Boundary stones and markings can also be found in Wandsbek, Berne, Bergstedt and Volksdorf. Hamburg's northernmost boundary stones are in Duvenstedter Brook; the southernmost in Harburg at the end of the Black Mountains. The website geoportal-hamburg.de is helpful. Simply enter "boundary stones" in the search mask. Green dots mark the locations. The street name, house number and year the boundary stone was built are displayed for each point.

Interesting historical detail, but insignificant from a cycling perspective.
